What We Believe

 The WORD OF GOD

We believe in the authority of God’s Holy Word.

2nd Timothy 3:16-17; 2nd Peter 1:21; Psalm 111;

Matthew 24:35 and Proverbs 30:5-6

ONE TRUE GOD

There is only one true God. John 4:24

We believe God is :

† Immutable - unchanging, Malachi 3:6

† Eternal - past, present, and future, Psalm 90:2

† Self-existent – He is dependent on no one or source outside of who HE is

All life exist within God, Exodus 3:14;

† Omnipotent – He has unlimited power. All power Romans 13:1

† Omnipresent – He is everywhere at all times, Psalm 139:7-12

† Omniscient – He is all knowing, Psalm 139:1-6

† Immensity – He is not constrained by time and space. Isaiah 66:1; 1st Kings 8:27

OUR GOD IS

† Holy - He is excellence, set apart, morally supreme

Leviticus 20:7

† Righteous – He is perfect, complete, never wrong.

2nd Corinthians 5:21

† Truth-He is reliable, trusted, the embodiment of fact and knowledge

† Love-He is unselfish, benevolent, loyal, caring, forgiving

1st John 4:8 and 1st Corinthians 13 (entire chapter).

JESUS

† Jesus is the Son of God; 2nd Person of the Godhead,

God in the flesh. He came to make known the Father and redeem man.

(2nd Corinthians 5:19)† Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and

born of the virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinners.

(John 1:1, 2; Luke 1:35; Matthew 26:64; Luke 22:69; and 1st Corinthians 15:1-6)

† We believe God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy

His anger against us. Jesus personally carried our sins in his body

on the cross and died so we can be dead to sin.

God raised Jesus from the dead on the third and appointed day.

Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8; Romans 6:2 and Romans 10:9

THE HOLY SPIRIT

He is the 3rd Person of the Godhead. He abides, searches our heart, teaches us and brings to

remembrance things Jesus said. John 16: 7 – 11; Romans 8:9 & Ephesians 5: 18

Baptism

We believe that Christian baptism symbolizes the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Baptism represents our dying to sin, being buried and the resurrection to a new life.

In baptism a believer is immersed in water in the name of the Father,

and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4

We baptize in following Christ’s example and in obedience to his command.

Matthew 3:13-17

Lord’s Supper

The Lord’s Supper is the partaking of bread and

(fruit of the vine) as symbols of Christ’s body

and spilled blood by members of the Gospel church in commemoration

of the suffering and death of our Lord.

1st Corinthians 11:26

Christian Sabbath

We believe in the New Testament belief and practices.
